Last month Alyssa drove 5 hours to come bring her runaway princess inspired dream shoot to life with me. It’s always such an honor when folks travel from out of state to work with me, but it can be tricky because it often means we shoot rain or shine. Of course (as have all my shoots been recently) her day was scheduled for intense rain and thunderstorms all day long… but we both had good attitudes about it and still decided to push through even if it meant a rain shoot.
Not only did the rain subside and hold off til after her shoot ended, but we were met with THE most gorgeous moody stormy light for her session that just made that *magical runaway princess* vision all the more mysterious and dreamy. The forest was so quiet as storm clouds loomed over us— just the sound of the rushing water alongside us as we ran through the forest exploring old ruins and finding peace in nature.
**Also YES that castle turret is real and we saw it randomly on the side of the road while driving to the location (The way I GASPED in the car) so of course we stopped for a photo!
It was Alyssa’s first ever photoshoot and even though she was nervous (as literally everyone always is!) I think she absolutely crushed her dream shoot, and here’s what she had to say when she saw her photos:
